VITAMIN B INJECTIONS

There are 8 B vitamins recognized. Unlike the fat soluble vitamins A D E K, B vitamins are water soluble and not stored in the body. These vitamins need to be absorbed on a daily basis for normal function. Once ingested, any amount not used for a cellular function is excreted.  B vitamins are coenzymes needed for energy production, proper nerve function, normal vision and skin health, digestive system health, protein metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, red blood cell formation, DNA and RNA synthesis, fatty acid synthesis, amino acid synthesis and the manufacture of sex and stress related hormones.

At Willo MediSpa, a Phoenix aesthetic medical office, we have two different formulations of B vitamins available for injection. They are used for different reasons.

The most common B vitamin injection we offer is 1 mg of B12. B12 is felt to provide energy, boost mood and concentration and help with proper function of the brain, nervous system and red blood cells. As we age, we do not absorb B12 efficiently from our diet. Vegans need B12 as it is only found in animal products. B12 injections are an effective way to get the needed vitamin. Patients come in for B12 injections on an as needed individualized schedule. Most clients feel an increased energy level shortly after the injection that can last for several days. B12 injections do not sting when being administered.

We also offer a B vitamin complex injection. This solution is a combination of five B vitamins and helps with metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein, fat and protein synthesis, amino acid and glucose metabolism, cellular energy production and red blood cell formation. It also has antioxidant and anti-stress properties. This B vitamin complex solution is formulated with Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacinamide (a form of B3), Dexpanthenol (a derivative of Pantothenic Acid B5) and Pyridoxine (B6). Unfortunately, to get these different B vitamins into solution together, the pH of the solution has to be adjusted making the injection somewhat painful. Usually the discomfort is short lived and does not linger after a minute.
